bell box murals project | august 2020 | 10’ x 4.5’ x 1’ | exterior Acrylic Paint

This hand painted mural design was born as homage to Toronto's historical homes and a celebration of their timeless stained glass windows. As a proud Torontonian, I enjoy walking the quiet residential streets and admiring the older, more charming homes of the different neighbourhoods. As a fan of fine craftsmanship and vintage design, I would like to celebrate the beautiful stained glass artwork created for the Victorian houses that can still be seen today, with all their whimsical elements and intricate details. With this vibrant and captivating modern-meets-traditional design, I hope to add a little more colour and charm to the Runnymede neighbourhood. When people pass by this mural, I hope they will find joy in the details and a newfound appreciation for the arts.

This mural was part of the Bell Box Murals Project 2020 affiliated with Bell Canada and organized by Michael Cavanaugh and local BIAs where artists apply with their design to paint a Bell box in different neighbourhoods. My design was inspired by the beautiful stained glass on houses in Toronto, particularly in the west end of the city. Check out Bell Box Murals Project for all the amazing pieces that have been painted over the past nine years.
