Grow Wild & Free

This design was born as homage to Toronto’s wildflowers, representing the rejuvenation of new seasons and welcoming the regrowth of flora in our urban environment. In celebration of these unique plants, that are often seen as undesirable weeds, I painted them larger than life, to inspire others to look forward to the spring season and all the natural life and beauty that comes with it. *Bonus points if you can name the flowers I painted, answer below.
This mural can be found at 233 Carlton Street in Cabbagetown, Toronto. You can’t miss this vibrant window mural! A big thank you to the Cabbagetown BIA for including me in their spring art walk and bringing more art to our streets! 🎨
If you are curious, yes I painted from the inside (because of the weather) and yes it looks completely different than the outside reality. That's the mystery of window mural painting. You have to paint the details first and background last, not to mention your design is being painted backwards. But I'm getting used that bizarre process now so bring it on!
step-by-step PROCESS
*The flowers I painted here are: woodland anemone, chicory, Queen Anne’s lace, and cosmos.
