A fairytale romance

Three unique visual directions were created for this calligraphy passion project in order to tell the untold wedding stories of some of my favourite fictional romances. Whimsical and modern calligraphy mixed with graphic design skills tied all of this inspiration nicely together, with a ribbon of course. All photography by the talented Photographer Amanda Soriano.

Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam aka Mr. Darcy

Inspired by the traditional English class of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, this minimalist design was born with the subtle use of colour, textured paper and warm neutral tones. In hopes of adding contrast to this elegant wedding suite, I collected some antique pieces, pretty lace, and fresh eucalyptus to tell the love story of this lovely English couple.

Amélie poulain and Nino Quincampoix

Get lost in Amélie’s magical world through this charming wedding suite that was inspired by the 2001 French film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. This is a bold and modern suite with a twist. Funky patterns, saturated colours, and Parisian touches bring this whimsical love story to life. The moody colour palette mixed with quirky props is sure to keep you enchanted, letting your imagination run as wild as Amélie’s. Watercolour and ink textures by Jodi Pellier.

romeo and juliet

Please forgive me Will, but I rewrote the ending of Romeo and Juliet's love story. Dreamy watercolour textures, a pastel colour palette, floral elements, and a rich touch of gold tells the story of these two famous star-cross’d lovers in this romantic wedding suite. Rose illustration, watercolour texture by Jodi Tellier.
